Case Study: Sullivan’s Castle Island Website

Sullivan’s Castle Island has been a Boston landmark and destination for generations. In 2019 the company updated its branding as it prepared to open new locations at Logan Airport and Hub Hall at North Station. The client wished to expand the existing one-page website with new pages for branding, menus, locations, and merchandise. In 2021, the Pandemic required that we add safety guidelines and conversion of static menu pages into online ordering and catering with payment processing through the client POP system.

The website required:

  • New sitemap and navigation
  • New page layouts for expanded content
  • Responsive styling
  • Custom coding for new store locations
  • Functions for notices and special offers
  • Dynamic catering menu for online ordering

Working with the existing single-page WordPress theme, we expanded the site into unique pages with new all-new text and graphics. We also created custom features to enable the client to update and manage content internally.

We created a floating notice feature enabling the client to add custom text and special offers on the home page. We also created a custom catering menu enabling customers to schedule and place group orders. This menu can also be controlled from the back end by the client.
